#1

Came home from work today to find that The Witch is currently at #1 in the Top 100 Free lists for all of its categories on Amazon!

And in Fantasy Anthologies & Short Stories, it’s even ahead of Charles Dickens and Bram Stoker. O.o

Thanks to anyone who has downloaded it, and if you haven’t yet, now’s a good time!

Free book!

The Witch is free today! It’s a risk-free way to give Land of Winds a try (and Book 1 is on sale also, if you’d like to read more).

Luule is born with a speck of blue in her gray eyes, the vivid blue of magic. But magic is feared, and those who wield it shunned. Luule grows up fighting for acceptance in her village, her only encouragement that given by her loving mother. When her mother dies, Luule is left truly alone. Struggling to endure harsh winters, she works harder than ever…until a foreign army invades. With magic-wielding enemies bearing down on them, Luule must make hard decisions quickly not only to survive, but for the chance of winning a better life for herself. Come find out which way the Winds will blow…

(A short story in the Land of Winds series.)

Progress Update

While my last batch of applesauce for the season cooks, here is a writing progress update! I promised myself a writing day over the four day weekend, and I got more than 4,000 words written on Saturday! Definitely my best day in a while.

All Land of Winds things, I worked on:

  • Land of Winds Book 2 – title probably decided but to-be-announced later
  • The Swordsman – A novella set before Book 1 that explores Alexei Vidari’s background
  • Untitled Short Story – set between Books 1 and 2, tells more of Elof and Maimu’s story
  • Untitled Short Story – also set between Books 1 and 2, tells more of Alexei and Ilari’s story

I’ll post some snippets of these at some point! (Anyone interested in any of them in particular?) The Swordsman will hopefully be out in ebook form sometime in the first half of 2019, and after that the publication order would tentatively be Elof and Maimu’s story, Alexei and Ilari’s story, and then Book 2. I have no real idea of a timeline on any of that just now, depends on how quickly writing and editing go.

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving weekend!
